What is your take on guns?
The second amendment was adopted on December 15, 1791 as part of the first ten amendments introduced in the bills of rights. The second amendment which is in the constitution of the United States protects the right of individuals to keep or bear arms. Its to protect the american people rights that wants to own a gun, but the question is are the laws protecting all americans or are they just protecting the one's that want the right to carry a gun? Over the years gun control cite large number of people killed in gun-based homicides each year: over 8,000 per year, peaking at 14,000 in 1993. Now over 100,000 people have been shot each year in the U.S (which is a 72% of all violence killing use guns as the weapon.)
Those numbers are extremely scary but seems to be facts that are over looked from the people in america & the people in charge. Incase you don't think those numbers are extreme, lets compare these numbers to Japan. Japan gun laws are very strict regarding both ownership and punishment, only 4 people were killed by guns in 2012. Japan has a smaller population, but even counting that, the per capita death rate is 1,000 times higher in the United States. Now lets use that information in perspective of a large urban city like Philadelphia. In 2013 philadelphia rate of 15.96 homicides per 100,000 residents in in 2013 remained slightly higher than Chicago's rate while also being four times higher than New York City rate. This information shows that it's not just a city thing, its a nation thing that has to be changed.
